Join Online

Joining online is simple and takes just a few minutes of your time.

When joining, it helps to have your employee/payroll number as this will become your member number. If you don’t yet have one, you can still complete the application and join.

It also helps to have your pay advice with employment information, and either bank account or credit card details for payment.

For education students, associate student membership is free while studying.

Please use only Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge or Safari. (This application will not work using Internet Explorer)

For full-time, part-time, casual or contract teachers or tutors in Queensland’s state schools and TAFE campuses.

  • Permanent can be full time or part time, but it is permanent ongoing employment.
  • Temporary is when you are on a contract for a specific period on set days e.g. a week, a month, a term, a semester or a year.
  • Casual is when you do not have an employment pattern or a set school and you can be asked to work on any day.

  • My membership dues are calculated based on rules in the QTU Constitution and Rules.
  • My membership is ongoing, that the membership year is from January to December and that I will be invoiced each year.
  • If at some time in the future I wish to cancel my membership, my cancellation must be in writing to the General Secretary and any outstanding dues must be paid. This can be emailed (preferred), or posted to the QTU Brisbane office.

While education has historically been a state prerogative, issues that impact on state schools and TAFE campuses are increasingly being decided on a national level. That's why, unless they advise otherwise, all members of the QTU automatically become members of the Australian Education Union, the union representing the interests of state school and TAFE educators on the federal stage.

AEU(Q) membership is automatically included at no extra cost unless you indicate otherwise below.

Please tick if you do NOT wish to be a member of the AEU(Q).

Note: To ensure coverage by the QTU, CQU VET educators must retain membership of the AEU(Q).

I give my consent for the QTU to provide my personal details to QTU activists for the purpose of campaigning.

TUH Health Fund is Queensland's number one health fund for union members and their families.

Please send me information about TUH Health Fund. By choosing this option, you are authorising the QTU to provide your contact details including your name, phone and email to TUH.
